KEEPING THE FIRE ALIVE
O’ Cosmos!
You have perished;
Your mortals have faded
Into a deep vile.
Why do you laugh O’ Colonel?
Your stout shoulders broad with pride?
How long can you ignore it?
For the cries of the ones you slaughtered are haunting;
Your elation is ghastly.
Throw away that facade!
Sleep well, dear father:
Withered skin on glorious armor
Such is mankind!
Do not fret O’ mother!
Hidden are your children in the attic;
You stand erect facing death,
An oblation, they said.
My deepest sympathies O’ young ones!
For banished are your little dreams.
Those little tears of yours-
Will forever be unseen.
Foregone are those days;
Those days of beauty and glory.
The time has ceased;
Since the catastrophe.
Beneath the peel,
All are alike.
Flesh and bones are all identical;
Then why build walls of spears and knives?
Homo sapiens! What a name!
But does it spark a flame?
What a shame!
For you are to blame.
Those little sparks in your heart;
Engulfed are they;
By many names.
Look around; open your eyes!
Feel their anguish; ignite those sparks!
The Cosmos is alive.....
